Who are we?

Organising friendship with the people of Eritrea in Belgium

Developing solidarity with the Eritrean people remains an urgent necessity. Although the ruling powers of the West in general are still hostile to Eritrea because it wants to pursue an independent path and join the global South, Eritrea is now gaining ground in the Horn of Africa. Its prestige in Africa is growing by the day.

Once a victim of colonialism and imperialism, Eritrea is now becoming a model for the peoples of Africa. Eritrea campaigns for peace and cooperation in the region. The well-being of its people is ensured by free education and health care.

Positive developments must and can be highlighted in Belgium and beyond.

Solidarity with Eritrea was quite strong in the 1980s, when the country was waging a war of liberation. After liberation, our interest waned.

At the initiative of Professor Mohamed Hassan, Eritrea-Tour for Eritrea support organised a successful first trip to Eritrea in December 2016. A second and third trip followed in April 2019 and 2024. A fourth trip will be organised in April 2025.

Eritrea-Tour also organises regular conferences and debates on Eritrea.

We also protest every time Eritrea's enemies want to blacken the country in the European Parliament.
